Biography

Therese Fowler-Bailey Born with a natural talent for design and color, has been educated in all aspects of watercolor and acrylic art. Therese has gained acceptance into numerous juried competitions, received outstanding recognition including Best of Show, several 1st Place Ribbons and 2 People’s Choice awards. Having been invited to create her own “One Woman Shows” for galleries throughout California, Therese has celebrated huge success in sales and attendance. Therese is climbing quickly to notoriety in the West Coast Art world. Artist Statement

Being raised with an attitude of "if all of your classmates are doing it this way, be different and do it your way" to quote my dear Mother... I can only thank her today. I am a bold colorist who is not afraid to use a big brush, and I've painted that way from day one. Painting loosely with large strokes and bold colors..capturing scenes from people in everyday life to gorgeous mountain and coastal landscapes...I live for creativity and expression with heart, action and light. Design through watercolor paint and expression is my passion and Zest in Life!

Art Education

I have painted with, learned from and grown with the best Masters in Art today. Received my AA in Business/Fine art in 78 and never painted or touched a brush for many yrs after that. 15 yrs later, quit my computer "day" job and became obsessed with my first watercolor College Watercolor Class in yrs. Have attended week long and unlimited workshops with Arne Westerman, Stephen Quiller, Ratindra Das, Barbara Nechis, Robbie Laird, Donna Watson, Don Getz, Dale Laitenan, Paul Jackson, Dan Burt, Allan Wylie, Dick Cole and Steve Rogers...just to name a few,

Awards

Tulare, Fresno, Sacramento, Lassen and Plumas County Juried art competition Acceptance and Best of Shows. City of Sacramento, and City of Reno, Nv Juried competition Awards, First Place Ribbons and People Choice. Numerous County Fair & local Juried Shows.
