I was born on the East Coast of the US in 1953. I moved to Texas at age 5 and was immersed in the sounds and culture of the Gulf Coast. In 1972 I moved to Southern California and was able to continue my love affair with the ocean and seascapes. In 1996 after several trips to the South Pacific, I began capturing the inspiration of the islands and a fun-loving people who truly celebrate life. Canvases of vibrant color and scenic imagery are typical.
My paintings are best described as photo-realistic. The canvases are dramatic and emotional..often a deep spiritual aura about them. I have in recent years done many paintings with the subjects being musicians popular in the 60's and today..everyone seems to love them and definitely enjoy capturing the colorful and creative energy they emit..
My paintings have been shown at the Upcountry Gallery Connection in Kamuela, Hawaii, where I won an award from the local residents. Also was chosen for display in the 1998 Del Ma Art Exhibit and received the "People's Choice Award". In the 2000 Del Mar Fair Art Exhibit, two works were chosen for display, both winning "Honorable Mention" Awards. I have in recent years had my work in The Kohala Coast Fine Art Gallery in Waikaloa, Hawaii.
