Jennifer Friend

Biography

Jennifer Friend consistently receives praise for her rich color choices, dramatic effects, and strong feeling in her artwork.  She simply paints what captures her interest and dates her artistic abilities..  When deciding specifically what to paint, she quickly responds, “I love to tell a story when I paint or at least inspire a story for the viewer.”

 
Friend, a plein air painter, paints subjects which inspire and challenge her including Death Valley, California and coastal views of San Clemente.

Awards

 • Grand Prize Winner, 2004 Art Methods and Materials juried Exhibition, American Artists: “Choosing Subjects That Inspire:  Jennifer Friend explains how she captures strong feelings in a beach and desert landscape”, J. Mecalfe, American Artist 757, pp 56-61 2005
