David Wagner

Biography

My name is David Wagner. After 25 years in advertising and graphic design, I have finally begun my venture back to my first true love. Photography. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1985 and became an art director in advertising. As an art director, I became an expert in typography, color, composition, and worked with many talented photographers across the country. Those design principles that have been finely honed over the last 25 years in advertising and design have served to form my own personal photographic style.

Artist Statement

The majority of my photography is urban architecture, emphasizing typography, in the form of signage and serves as the thread of continuous style throughout my work. My design background also infuses a strong graphic vision to my work, giving each piece dynamic composition. Within this framework, my photos do vary from highly textural imagery to very stark imagery. I hope you will find my work as interesting to view, as I find it to create.
