Oil on Canvas. Mountain logging road on a crisp December afternoon
Hello Brian, thanks for the compliment. Yes, I'm working on a 'still life' which is 24h X 18w. Hope to have it finished in a few days. I'm also staring at two blank canvases, one 24 X 24 and one 30 X 36, which I intend to tackle in the coming weeks.
Your work is beautiful! Are you working on any larger paintings?
Judith Harvey is an independent artist based in Montreal, Quebec. She takes much of her influence from the current classic realist movement as well as the old Dutch and Flemish masters. Although she continues to expand and experiment with new approaches, she hopes to convey a sense of tranquility and simplicity, using a minimalistic approach to theme, colour and form.
As an artist, one always feels a great sense of accomplishment after having completed a work of art. However, for this artist it isn't the end product that brings the most satisfaction, it is the creative process itself. With each new painting one engages all of the senses. There is always a surprising affirmation of the sheer and simple beauty of form, light and the complexity of nature's palette. To see and to feel on such an intimate level is the real joy.
