Title: Harbor Reflections
16 x 20
Weight: 4.0 lbs.
Painted in plein air on a Southern California harbor. The reflection of the little red boat made this the pefect balance of color against all that blue of the bay.

Jonathan Edward Luczycki (Lou-ziss-key) was drawing before the age of three years old and started selling sketches of Disney characters while on recess in grade school for a quarter each. This also happened to be the exact cost for chocolate milk in the cafeteria. A talented business man from the start. Academically trained as a professional illustrator, the human figure and portraiture continue to captivate him and he constantly strives to paint them in new and exciting ways. He has been studying anatomy and has been involved in figure drawing classes and workshops on a constant basis for nearly 15 years. While studying at illustration & fine arts at Laguna College of Art & Design, he learned the techniques of the masters who understood the importance of working in natural light and from direct observation of the model. Jonathan has had several solo and group shows along the west coast since 2002, from Portland, Oregon to Laguna Beach, Hollywood and downtown L.A. Since 2005 he has built relationships with collectors on a national and international scale. His paintings are in private collections across the country, as well as in collections in Mexico City, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Canada, Tokyo, Germany, Australia, and Paris. He resides and works out of his studio in Costa Mesa, CA painting landscapes by day and portraits by night.
At a very young age I devoted my life to the arts and have always been fascinated with the art of picture making. I was not born with the ability to paint and draw like this. It is something that has slowly developed over a long course of time through hard work, education and dedication. Since graduation from Laguna College of Art & Design in 2007, up until now, spring of 2012, I had painted outdoors nearly everyday advancing at my craft. Studying the plein air movement and traveling to paint at the sames viewpoints of the legendary Edgar Payne and William Wendt in addition to studio work helps keep me well rounded as an artist. My motivation and dream is to paint in every continent. I love drawing & painting, it is all I ever want to do, and I couldn't imagine living a life without art.
