Biography

My creative process expands and evolves through the daily discipline of digital illustration, writing and poetry. It is not the "digital" medium by which I have chosen to express myself that makes me an artist. It is a way of life. It is a way of moving through the world; aware of all the beauty that exists.

Color is my signature mark. Whether I am painting a landscape, seascape or even a whimsical piece, I use color in ways to express what I'm feeling. It all starts with color! I begin with a wash ... light brush strokes of color. I play with transparent hues until an image emerges. The color shapes the painting and gives life to the image.

Prior to becoming a fine artist in 2007, I was a branding consultant to solo entrepreneurs for 20+ years. I helped artists, authors, lawyers, musicians, stylists, and many others. As a branding expert, I used my artistic talents to help the solo entrepreneur create a strong personal brand presence that was Distinct, Notable and Authentic (DNA).

How did I develop my digital art illustration skills? I was introduced to digital art in the mid 80s ... do you remember MacPaint? It was the first commercial painting software program for the personal computer. Passionate about technology and the advancement of digital art capabilities, I ultimately mastered the skills of illustration and painting techniques while using them to help clients.

In 2007, I became aware that I had developed a greater pleasure through traditional painting techniques expressed in the non-traditional way of digital illustration. That's when I left the consulting practice in order to immerse myself in the journey of producing fine art full time.

My art is shown in public and private collections and represented by galleries and art consultants. I exhibit and sell at art festivals throughout the U.S. I also teach other artists how to define and identify their unique personal brand that helps them in gaining greater exposure to their work. Today, I continue giving presentations and seminars exclusively to artists and other creatives.

Artist Statement

Art is my sanctuary. I am moved to paint the essence of stillness, beauty and grace that exists in all things. I am driven to paint; to empty out.

I have won numerous awards in the fine art category of digital art. Primarily for my ability to paint without the use of photographs or scanned images.
