Andrew Weeks
Biography
Andrew Weeks was fortunate to have parents who encouraged his artistic bent: not only did they take him on jaunts to art galleries and museums, they let him creatively crayon the dining room walls. Eventually a camera landed in his hand and with the first click of the shutter, he was hooked for life. Early in his photographic career, Andrew was fortunate enough to apprentice with some amazing photographers; it was under their guidance that Andrew’s passion and raw talent developed into a knack for translating remarkable moments into lush images. Today, Andrew’s photography is continually enlivened by his active commercial photography practice. His photography has appeared in several fine art galleries as well as in publications such as Brides Magazine, The Knot, Sacramento Magazine, Our Wedding Magazine, Shutter Bug, and The Los Angeles Times. In addition to boasting an extensive commercial client list, Andrew’s work has also been singled out for awards from Black Book, the Prix de la Photographie, Paris and IPA (International Photography Awards).
Artist Statement
It is my hope that it is my collection of photographs that make the best artist statement for me. They are a far better statement about my work than any words I could string together ever could be. I like to keep my work simple. I am a photographer. I will carry a camera where ever I go, searching for perfect moments in my life to capture. I photograph these moments as I come across them and develop these moments in the way my eyes sees them. The creation of my work gives me a great sense of peace. Besides kissing my wife and raising my son there is nothing I love to do more then take photographs. I hope others will enjoy my work.
Awards
Andrew’s work has also been singled out for awards from Black Book, the Prix de la Photographie, Paris and IPA (International Photography Awards).
